1. Inspired by his most respected grandmother Odette who taught him about demonstrating joy, passion & love through food using simplest pure fresh ingredients to create magical artisanal innovations!

2. Succeeded by buddy Kirk Westaway, Julien lead Jaan 2011 to 2015 & realised his dreams to open his own restaurant after meeting business partner Wee Teng Wen, a supportive regular guest of Jaan!

3. With The Lo & Behold Group (runs restaurants: Black Swan, White Rabbit, Overeasy, Extra Virgin Pizza), Odette opened in Nov 2015, surpassed expectations to win Michelin 2 Stars within 9 months!

4. In 2018, Odette ranked Asia 9th, World 28th & awarded Singapore Best Restaurant! Before joining Brasserie Les Saveurs at St Regis Spore, he worked with French Chefs Bernard Andrieux & Michel Bras!

5. He won Chef Of The Year for the 2nd time by the annual World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence on 27 Mar 2017! He was Chef Of The Year 2014 when he was Chef de Cuisine at Jaan Swissotel!

3 long draggy hours of dull lifeless food presentation, taste flavours which needs much improvements, ungenuine service standards, plain ambience with pesky flies wandering around!
Michelin Stars, fame and prestige aside, these disappointing flaws makes it really hard to justify a revisit any time soon!
